Aged just 19, Brian purchased his first scrap metal yard in Salford.
Brian went on to acquire a further eight yards across Greater Manchester, establishing Lloyds as a dominant force in the North West scrap metal industry.
All Lloyds Metals yards were sold. Brian considered retirement… briefly.
Retirement didn’t suit Brian. Lloyds relaunched, with his four sons taking active roles at the Raikes Lane site it occupies today.
Lloyds continues to grow as a thriving family business. Father and four sons now operate a high-capacity scrap metal facility, processing over 45,000 tonnes each year, supported by a dedicated team of employees.
